Subj:   V2R5.0 - Is It Worth Upgrading Yet?

Is anyone successfully using V2R5 in a production environment. Has anyone upgraded and been forced to back out to / stay with V2R4.x as a result of encountering serious problems? We are planning to upgrade to V2R5 from V2R4.1 within the next 1 - 4 months but don't want to proceed if it will create major problems with our existing systems.

We are planning to upgrade to V2R5 within the next 1 - 4 months. We have a 4900 channel attached to an IBM mainframe. Updates are primarily via daily and weekly Multiload and BTEQ jobs run overnight on the mainframe. User queries are via both Queryman and Business Objects 5.x from (mainly) Windows 98 PCs. A lot of use is made of sub-queries, derived tables, OLAP functions such as RANK. Very little or no use is currently made of global and volatile temporary table, stored procedures, triggers etc.. We also have a couple of third-parrty applications that, as far as I know, were written back in the days of V2R3 or possibly even V2R2. They work fine on V2R4.1.3 but we are concerned that V2R5.0 might not be so forgiving.

Thanks in advance.
