Subj:   Teradata Admin 6.0.-Comment String Question

Hello TData experts:

We're using Teradata Administration (aka WINDDI) version 6.0.0. I successfully applied a comment to a database using the comment command (comment on database TESTER as 'Test Database';) and expected to see the comment displayed in the CommentString box when selecting Database Information on a database name at the left side database tree.

Only the first letter of the comment shows up in the CommentString box. I updated the comment to use only upper case: (comment on database TESTER as 'TEST DATABASE';) and still got the same results --> only 1 character (the letter 'T') displaying in the CommentString box.

Select on DBC.Dbase (select commentstring from dbc.dbase where databasename = 'TESTER') verified the application of the comment, the comment is returned. Has anyone gotten a comment on a database to display more than 1 character in the CommentString box?

thanks
