Hi,

Is there any built in function to validate whether data in VARCHAR field is numeric or not? .. CAST just converts the data to desired format I don't want this . Let me tell you in detail

Field is always VARCHAR , we always get the numbers in a string format '123456789' , if in any case they send the data as '12344A5B3D' we need to validate before we process

Is there any Standard SQL or Stored Proc or Macro to do this type of validation .

Right now I'm planning to do this in a procedural language .

Your help would be highly appreciated
