I can't find the documentation that I was looking for, but my first thought (and I'm guessing) was that the behaviour you're seeing might
be related to FastExport's re-distribution of data prior to its export and the use of the CSUM function. You might take a look at this
thread about the distribution of work when using CSUM:

If that's the case (and given the small amount of data that you're exporting), you'll probably find that BTEQ is the better fit for what
you're doing.
