In the process of fixing another problem, we introduced a new bug. The code that introduced this bug was included in 5.0.0.6.

The new bug causes a session hang and potentially/eventually a system hang due to that session being hung in an infinite loop. The problem happens only for a very special subset of queries using expressions and column aliases.

We did not stop V2R5 upgrades. We chose to pull efixes .6-.8 from our server and recommend that customers not utilize those versions which contain this moderate to low probability but high impact problem. We recommend instead that for the moment, customers utilize 5.0.0.5.

We have built a single fix efix to repair the problem which will be called 5.0.0.10 and will be available for MP-RAS users on Sat 4/5/03. Windows equivalent will follow immediately. This will allow you to install .6-.8 plus .10 and become current with certified fixes for V2R5.

We regret the poor initial communication which caused so much confusion. We continue to have a high degree of confidence in V2R5 and continue to get good feedback from all of you on its capabilites and stability.
