We just had to restore all our databases from tape. Most of our DB's don't have RI but I have one Db with RI defined on all the tables. It seems as if the Db was restored in an inconsistent state. Although it looked as if it restored OK, I had to drop all the foreign key references before I could load additional rows.

Does this sound as if 'that's the way it should be' or is there something that must be done to restore RI correctly.
