Derived table is just a name given to the result spool in a Query. I think performance should vary with the requirements. Derived tables does not have to be created using DDL likewise volatile/global temporary tables. But It is very sure that derived tables provides the up to date data wherease volatile/temporary tables may not. Giriraj Verma
