Hi John,
You can only run the priority scheduler utility, schmon, from a node that is running Teradata. Schmon requires services from the PDE
layer, which is not available on the application node. Although you can run schmon from any Teradata node, you will require root privileges
to issue commands.
You may have already seen this information, but there's a small repository on SupportLink that contains technical papers (usability tips
and techniques) around things like priority scheduler. If not, and you're interested, here's how to get to it.
If you are on page 1 of SupportLink, scroll down and there should be a link under the Updates column that takes you to the active data
warehouse repository. The icon you are looking for says "Teradata ADW Documents", click on that icon and you will see a list that you can
download from. There are several priority scheduler "how-to" papers with things like sample code, templates, discussion of trade-offs, dos
and don'ts, etc. Might make your next steps easier.
Good luck going forward. -- Carrie
