Subj:   Access Logging and Denials

From:   Matthew Lipke

I have used access logging on our system in the past, however, we turned it off due to some performance issues. Since I turned it off we have upgraded to 4.1.3 and added two more nodes and filled out our initial disk arrays and added one more fully populated disk array. We would like to verify how a table is getting accessed to check whether or not an index is being utilized. So I went in and tried turning on any access to that table through WinDDI. I "On Database" to the correct database, Object Type to "Table", highlighted the table we want logging turned on, By User set to All, Denials checked on, With SQL checked, First marked, and Access checked. Based on this I figure I would see any Insert, Update, Select, Execute, or Delete on the table I highlighted. I have checked the manuals to make sure the macro is out on the system and I cannot see anything else I would need to set up. Hopefully I have given a clear understanding of the problem. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your help in advance.
