Subj:   Re: Teradata-demo on WinXP -- won't start

From:   Henne, Larry

All,

David used the following information to fix his system:

The createfile error in the event log happens on any system not installed with PUT. It should be ignored for a demo system.

You might be having problems with the Teradata Gateway; therefore, use notepad to insert the text below into a file named tgtw_service.reg. Execute tgtw_service.reg to modify your registry database. To execute the reg file double-click it from Windows Explorer. Then change the tdmst value in the etc\services file to 1025 and reboot the PC. The Teradata Gateway should then work OK with port 1025.

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\GtwRsrvTdmst]

"Group"="TDI"
"DependOnService"=hex(7):54,00,63,00,70,00,69,00,70,00,00,00,00,00
"DependOnGroup"=hex(7):00,00
