Hi,

Can somebody confirm/clarify something for us? Does a Multiload take a Write lock on a table (the same as an SQL update would take)?

We submitted a query with a Read lock on a table which was being multiloaded and it abended (as expected!) saying 'Table being Mloaded'.

We submitted similar query, again with Read lock, on a table which was being Updated via SQL, and this query completed.

Why? Did 2nd query wait until lock was released, or are the locks for SQL Update and Multiload different?
