Actually good you mention this I forgot this in my first email. I have seen reductions from 5..1/2 for the same data warehouse. Initially we had Oracle (about 1TB usable) and 5 DBAs (1 very senior, 1 senior, 3 junior), reduced this to 1 DBA on TD after migrating application. Later on we reduced the DBA effort to 1/2 (using the DBA for other stuff such as model design etc. in the second 50%).

With this you get a break even relatively quickly
