I believe that the problem that you are seeing is to do with the entries (or lack thereof in your hosts file) c:\winnt\system32\drivers\etc\Hosts on windows or /etc/hosts on Unix for instance to establish a CLI connection to our machine dbc/dbadmin the following entries need to be present in the hosts file of the machine that is establishing the connection. 10.1.187.12 dbccop1 Fred dowhop teradata_DB 10.1.187.14 dbccop2 now assuming that I can ping either 10.1.157.12 or 10.1.157.14 from that machine then CLI should be able to establish a connection. If you are still having a problem than create a COPANOMLOG and send it to the GSC for help. Cheers Peter
