Subj:   Session data for loads from MP-RAS

From:   Geoffrey Rommel

Recently, while researching FastLoad and MultiLoad performance on our system, I tried to find sessions that were actually accumulating CPU usage and disk I/O's in DBC.Acctg. As it turns out, in the load jobs run from MVS, both the DBC/SQL and the FASTLOAD|MLOAD sessions are accumulating such data, but in the MP-RAS jobs, only the DBC/SQL sessions are doing so; the FASTLOAD and MLOAD sessions do not appear in DBC.Acctg at all. This is surprising, to say the least. For the MP-RAS jobs, the only way I can find out the CPU and disk usage -- or indeed find the session numbers at all -- is to go through the PMON API.

Have other people found this? Is there some parameter we've forgotten to set? We are on version 4.1.0.

And, by the way, why doesn't Teradata keep a history of the host ID, session ID, partition, and logon sequence number for all sessions? That would make this kind of analysis so much easier!

Thanks....wgr
