I really think NCR made a big mistake tying too many things to a single "ANSI vs Teradata mode" flag.
Autocommit is one example. There is no reason they couldn't have supported a mode that allowed ANSI semantics with autocommit.
It's very frustrating when you want some of the behaviors from one mode, but are forced to use the other due to one "must have"
issue.
