Morning Paul, We maintain control at ID level by having the BO ID the same as the Teradata ID. It is possible in Business Objects to do this so that the BO query is actually run under the users normal ID. That way, any privilages at Teradata ID level apply at BO level. This is done when you set up a new connection, there is an tick box - Use Business Objects user name and password. It effectively passes the BO ID through to your data warehouse, so as long as the ID is the same as your Teradata ID then no problem. Advantages to us are: -Each user can be identified (although there is no easy way to tell if it is a normal SQL query or a BO one - any suggestions anybody?) -Only one ID and logon to worry about rather than logging in to BO and then into the Warehouse. The one disadvantage is occasional confusion if the user changes their password in BO or Teradata - it does not automatically change the other so they need to know to change it in both. Hope this helps, Dave
