I've had a call from a customer who says his ETL tool vendor wants to install WinCLI to improve the performance of their application. This would cause us all sorts of licensing and support problems, so our support organization would rather not do it. I seem to remember reading that older versions of the Teradata ODBC driver were slower than WinCLI, and that recent releases had closed the gap, but I can't remember where I read it.

Has anyone on the list seen (or run) recent benchmarks on ODBC versus WinCLI performance? Does anyone know of an NCR whitepaper on the subject?
