Subj:   Veritas scheduled Backups

From:   Michael Schucking

We had NCR install Veritas for our NT machines connecting to MP_RAS Teradata running v2r4.0.02. Our manual backup works ok. However our scheduled backup bombs because it can not read the encrypted user files on our NT client. I set up with the NCR people and they seem to be guessing at this point, it has been several weeks at this point. The only thing that seems odd to me that they had me create a second instance in (TDconfig) to run the scheduled backups and there is no place to set the login paramater for it like the instance that is used for the manual backup.

The other problem is how to get veritas software to obey the retention period on the tapes and start to overwrite after 2 weeks. It does not do this. Is this a feature?
