Either I'm crazy or I'm not. Either way this query refuses to return a result: error 3810.

select "'Table A'",sum(product_cost)
from mytable
union all
select "'Table B'",sum(product_cost)
from mytable2;

In accordance with the decrees of Pope Urban VIII, diagnosis of craziness can only be made by a physician licensed to do business with Teradata in your state. If, however, you remove the double quotes and retain the single quotes, you will find your symptoms much relieved.
