I think Geoffrey is looking at the Create Macro syntax diagrams in SQL Vol 4, P1-94

It does show the use of USING within the Create Macro script.

However it does go on to point out this won't work within BTEQ. It gives rather vague advice to contact NCR Support if you wish to use it in a 'special program' as pointed out in a previous reply.

It does show that the SQL manuals are becoming confusing as they show syntax on the same page for both normal SQL (via BTEQ) and embedded SQL.
