Does the SESSIONS statement in an MLOAD in fact create and execute multiple sessions?

If I set the mload SESSIONS to some number other than 1, does this mean that I can't be sure that the updates will be applied in the order that they come in the input file?

If the order of the updates is important, then I would need to set the SESSIONS to 1?
