Chris you are right but...

In a new release there might be added functionality and/or fixes. This is the reason that you need to run a dipall after everything has been restored on your new box.

Also make sure that you run the reseved words script before attempting to move all the data from V2R3 to V2R4; In V2R4 are additional words that have "a special meaning" to Teradata.
