Subj: | | Spurious errors with FASTLOAD of VARTEXT data with non-standard delimiting char |
|
From: | | Cornelius Meade |
I am finding that a strange thing happens when attempting to FASTLOAD vartext data using certain values as the field delimiting
character. In this case, the ' '(cent sign) was used as a delimiting character. This works fine except that if one of the vartext fields
in the file in question also contains a bracket (i.e. '[' or ']' ), this caused the fastload to terminate as if it were treating these
characters as delimiters also. This problem does not occur when '|' is used as the delimiting character for the file in question. I have
validated that this is the only difference between the two input datafiles. Anyone else run across this type of behavior before in a
FASTLOAD session or know of an explanation?
