Tech Note: Due to a number of recently reported P1 problems with V2R4.0.1, a temporary hold has been placed on upgrades from V2R3 to V2R4. This hold is currently scheduled to be effect in until Wednesday, March 7, 2001. This hold is in effect to prevent sites who are not already on V2R4 from encountering unnecessary problems until the fixes for all P1 DRs affecting the reason for the hold are available. Several of these DRs are related to wrong results problems, and do not cause restarts or issue error messages.

All sites currently on V2R4.0.0 are urgently recommended to upgrade to V2R04.00.01.29 or later as soon as possible, and all sites on V2R4.0.X who suspect they may be experiencing any of these problems should open incidents for the specific problems immediately.

The first two of at least four patch releases is already available and shipping in PTDBMS 04.00.01.28. This patch is running at four sites with no problems.

The following DR will be available in PTDBMS 04.00.01.30 from the gspatch server by the afternoon of 3/2/2001:

DR 54252 - Incorrect results query using outerjoin on view with constant - see NTA 370

The following DRs are being worked aggressively by engineering and are targeted for availability by 3/7/2001:

DR 54366 - Select count (*) on derived table with inner join returns wrong results. A Tech Alert will be available shortly.

DR 54391 - Wrong results for request involving view with NULL virtual columns. A Tech Alert will be available shortly.
