Karen, Where is (or where do think will be) the problem? Multiload will handle restarts of a failed load. It will re-read through the input file until it reaches the last known checkpoint and start loading the data from that point. During the sort phase it will get rid of any input records that it has loaded more than once, so you won't end up with the same data multiple times. 70-80 million records could be quite a few tapes. With a vanilla multiload then you can't stop the restart from reading through from the beginning (as far as I know) - if this is your problem you'd have to code something in an inmod/access module to quickly get to the last checkpoint. Does that help? Cheers, Dave
