In light of the two different versions of the Error Message (I vote for the older one as being more likely), please let us know what
versions of software you are running.
Also, you might include the BTEQ script that exports the data, a few rows from the file, and the MLoad script. Maybe the Create Table
statement, too.
What I suspect is that you will find that you have defined the output as a formatted (CHAR) string, with or without a sign, and that your
format on the receiving table doesn't match up quite right with the data as you have put it out.
