Subj:   Admin Comment - Please trim replies

From:   Jay Selkie

Many of the recent messages have gotten pretty long because the 'Reply' button is just too convenient.

Although it probably isn't a problem for everybody, it is certainly a problem for those people who receive the digest version. The bulk of the current digest is mostly replies-to-replies-to-replies, with only a little bit of new content.

Please, when replying, take a moment to trim as much of the old message as you can. Personally, I like seeing the specific message (or specific point) which caused a reply. Others would prefer that reply never be used. Overall, I see how a person replies to be a matter of personal style and I really don't want to make any specific rules. However, the length of some messages has been making the digest very difficult to read and it really isn't difficult to trim the excess.

Thanks for your cooperation.
