Subj:   Adding leading zeros in SQL output

From:   Frank Berghuis

I have a numeric field that needs to be converted to character and have leading zeros added. I guess I can do that by checking the length, and then have a CASE statement concatenate the appropriate number of zeros to the front. Is there an easier way? Thanks in advance.
