Subj:   Re: Facturation of CPU time use

From:   Nacer Menad

Hello Hakim,

The BEZ software is a commercial software that can be used for CPU charging, capacity planning, forcasting etc.., you can get information and contacts about it at their web site www.bez.com

You can do your own CPU accounting using the Acout String Expansion in Teradata, which is described in some of the Teradata Manuals, like the one I have now open :

Teradata RDBMS for UNIX
Database Design and Administration
(May 29, 1998)
[ Chapter 12, page 62 ]
it is very informative!

In case you don't have hard copies, you can get Teradata documentation on-line from www.info.ncr.com

For information about the PDE Priority Scheduler, you get a good start from the following Manual :

Teradata RDBMS User Utilities
Chapter 10: PDE Priority Scheduler

You can get in touch with with me for some scripts in case you decise to implement it.

Hope this helsp,

Note to All : My guess is that the word "Facturation" that Hakim used comes from the French word " La Facture" which means "bill" in English (as in phone bill or "CPU bill" here)
