Several things to remember: 1. you must define the input exactly as it is in Teradata terms. So a 'character' date is a character not a date which is an integer field. 2. You must define the set statement so that if a conversion is needed you identify the target data type and the default input format. 3. Without the data type in the set statement the format statement is invalid for a character field. have fun....if everything was easy we would be out of a job. Roland Thomas
