Obviously, I agree. I can't see where there's much advantage in keeping problems hidden (although it would be a different matter if we
were discussing the application in which the problem was encountered). That there is a character case problem with nested joins could have
the potential to be a major problem to my employer, one that would lead to bad business decisions that could have an effect on the health of
our business. The way things work now, we wouldn't know about the problem until those bad decisions had been made.
When you have a product as complex as the Teradata, there has to be bugs. In my book, a willingness to see a bug and address it is
really a reflection of the confidence that a vendor has in its own product. It's pretty apparent that some vendors are more open than
others.
