Subj:   Generating Random Records

Hi,

I am often required to generate large volume of random data and load to a table to analyze performance of indexes etc. To achieve this I have to request our ETL guys to generate 'n' number of rows with random data and load to the table for my analysis, which gets invariably delayed and impacts my timelines.

I believe folks in this forum (especially DBAs) are often required to do similar analysis work. Can any one help if there is any quicker and simpler way to generate such random data for analysis. (Perhaps with Teradata itself) ??

Thanks.
