Subj:   Re: Teradata SQLA poor perfromance with version 15.00

From:   Mark Young

Thanks again Mike.

I did perform the test against both our Production and Pre-Production systems, with Pre_Prod virtually quiet, using SQLA 14.10.0.7 and the job took between 5.5 and 6 hours in both. We have advised the client that the tool is not designed for large loads, but they keep referring back to the performance on SQLA 13.10, which they currently still use. I will test with the options you mention, but I am still advising that TPT would be our preferred option in the future.

Are there any other major changes between 13.10 and 14.10, in the TTU, that we should be considering?

We did find that the default TIME and TIMESTAMP values for ODBC driver installed on Linux changed from III to IAA, which caused problems for us also.

Cheers,

Mark
