As suggested, In Bteq before .logon I tried the following but it did not work-

     .logmech=ldap

The following message was returned -

     .logmech=ldap
     *** Default Mechanism Name setting established.
     *** Warning: Extra text found after command.
                   The text '=ldap' not processed (ignored).

Please advise.
