Looks like it would always be a full table scan as there is no filter condition. Your output table will be 5.5 billion rows minus duplicates.

What is happening in viewMED? I assume this is a view. Is There something else going on in this view? Table joins? Case statements?

Did you try a GROUP BY or DISTINCT to get rid of duplicates?
