Subj:   Re: TPT Scripts and logs location on Informatica

From:   McCall, Glenn David

TPT can be used in two different "modes". These are:

1) by writing load scripts (TPT scripts) that are executed by the tbuild utility.

2) by writing a program that calls the TPT API.

In the case of #1, the tbuild utility pretty much interprets the script that you have written, calls the correct API's and generates log output for you (i.e. someone has done #2 for you by writing the tbuild program that calls the API and generates logging information for you).

It is possible that the Informatica module that you are using is calling the TPT API directly - in which case there is no control file (or log file) because the tbuild utility is not invoked.

You should check the details of the Informatica module there may be logging options available in that.

If you are sure the Informatica module you are using calls the TPT utility programs, you might be better off asking INformatica where they put the control scripts... After all it is Informatica that will generate the control file, not TPT.

Glenn Mc
