This topic may not be related to Teradata but it is a part of TD DBA work here to generate and send database reports to the users.

In our BAR server which is Windows 2003 XP there are batch and script files that generate database reports and send them as GroupWise email attachment.

Since 2009 we have been sending mail from a BAR server to RELAY1 using bmail. We often attach MIME-encoded attachments using mpack. This process worked fine until a few months ago. Bmail still works, but mails with a MIME attachment don't: either they never come through at all, or they come through without the attachment.

I suspect that some switch was set on RELAY1 telling it not to accept attachments without specific authorization.

I'd like to know if anyone experienced this issue and knows the cause and solution.
