Hi all,

We have recently upgraded from V2R13 to V2R14.10.03.10 and to SQLa 14.10.0.04, Teradata.net 14.11.0.0.

The security settings on our system require the user to reset their passwd every 30 days. Users are logging on using Teradata.net and not ODBC.

Following the upgrade - the first user to attempt to reset their passwd following a system prompt that outlined that their password had expired and needed resetting - encountered the following error and was unable to reset their password;-

     Invalid connection string.
     Unexpected Error. Refer to the following file for details:
     C:\Users\28134\AppData\Roaming\Teradata\SQL Assistant\SQLAError.Txt

The SQLAError.Txt was as follows;-

     SQLA Version: 14.10.0.4
     System.InvalidOperationException: Invalid connection string.
        at Teradata.Client.Provider.TdConnection.Open()
        at Teradata.SQLA.TdConnectInfo.GetSession() in V:\cm.client.ttu141.efix\tdcli\qman\sqla\TdConnectInfo.vb:line 162

Upon investigation - users can issue the SQL 'Modify user as password =' statement and change their password with no issue and can use the option -> tools -> change password in SQLa and again change their password with -> no issue.

However if the system prompts with the message box to enter your password and re-enter the new one - then the above message results.

If the user then changes to attempt to logon using ODBC connection - the prompt to change password presents and the user can change their password with no issue.

Has anyone encountered this issue of not being able to change their password whilst logging on via Teradata.net when the password change has been prompted by the database but they are able to change the password via ODBC net when the password change has been prompted by the database

Thanks
