Subj:   Re: Restrict updates during backup run

From:   VANDORMAEL Raf

Hi Ray,

Thanks for your reply.

I've implemented, but not yet activated, the throttle as like you suggested.

But I wander, if I would activate it, it would no longer allow any user to submit DML statements, as long as the filter is active.

I run every day in the evening backups and in the weekend. Does that mean, I must activate them manually each time before a backup is taken en next deactivate when they are done?

I didn't find any mechanism in my Workload design portlet, that gives me the possibility to do this automatically for a certain period of time. (That's why I say, that our workload capabilities are limited...) (Maybe I forgot to mention, we have an appliance ,with TD13.10 (for the moment) running on OS SLES 10)

Can you go a bit more in detail, on how can achieve this?

Best regards,

Raf
