What type of compression?

You should not see a hit for MVC but depending on the appliance and Teradata version the block level compression did show minor impacts. This is one of the reasons older appliances were configured CPU heavy.

You do not mention elapsed time. Do the queries run faster even though they use a little more CPU? This is a valid trade off.
