Teradata supports that (client) data type only from a mainframe client. The field would need to be transformed to a supported numeric client
type to load from a different client platform e.g. Intel, SPARC, Power.
The storage formats of the Teradata data types and native client types for the various supported client platforms are documented in the
Teradata manual "Data Types and Literals".
