There is no name for the hashing algorithm other than the Teradata hashing algorithm. It is not a public, published algorithm for instance.

We do not share the details of how we actually do the hashing itself. We have put a lot of intellectual capital and R&D into making it work for all the wide variety of cases including various patterns of numerics, Unicode, character strings with interesting patterns and multiple column primary indexes of different types while still generating a hash that gets very good distribution.
