Subj:   Can not change default database

Hi All,

I am facing a strange problem in Teradata while using SQL Assistant.

My default database does not change even if I use the modify user command. Please see an example below :

     --------------------------
     1) SELECT DATABASE;
        HCDBFI
     2) SELECT PROFILE;
        HCDBFI_USERS
     3) MODIFY USER MYUSERID AS DEFAULT DATABASE = HCDBETL;

        Completed. 1 row processed.
     4) SELECT DATABASE;
        HCDBFI
     5) SELECT PROFILE;
        HCDBFI_USERS
     ---------------------------

No matter how many times I try 'modify user' I can not get my default database to change to "HCDBETL". As a result I have to always fully qualify the tablenames in the query as databasename.tablename

Can anyone please help me to find a solution for this.

Thanks.
