You need to add 'ON COMMIT PRESERVE ROWS at the end of the create volatile table;-) Something I get caught with every time!! Why engineering
implemented the CREATE VOLATILE/GLOBAL temp tables with the default NOT to preserve rows has always been beyond me - probably a dumb ANSI
standard?
