You're right, DataEncryption encrypts the data only during transmission, not in the database.
Is it really a *requirement* that the data be encrypted in the staging table as soon as it arrives in Teradata? I suggest that you foster an
understanding that staging tables are available only to a small group of trusted developers, not to end users, and put encryption only on the
target tables.
