Subj:   Re: FastLoad Restart

From:   Adithya K Bayyana

Hi,

If the job fails in the first phase(in our case it is first phase) and you want to continue the fastload job from the last check point, then we need to restart the job.

If you do not want to continue the job and you just want to release the locks, then the two options that you specified will only work.

------------------------------------------------------------------
Fastload lock can be released one of the below two ways

1. Run End loading

2. Drop and Create the Object
------------------------------------------------------------------

If the job fails in the second phase and you want to continue the fastload job from the second phase, then we need to run only begin and end loading statements.

If you do not want to continue the job and you just want to release the locks, then the only option is drop and create the object..

I think the release lock statement will not solve this scenario..

Thanks,

Adithya.
