Subj:   Use of Delete All on partitions

Hi All,

I am having a table with 100 million records in a table with partition on a column. As part of daily extracts, I receive around 1.8 million records for UPDATES and 0.2 million for inserts. Now can I truncate a particular partition and insert all the 2 million records from my extract instead of Updating?

Eg: Lets assume we have a Table with one year data and a partition on date. Update to be performed to a particular month(eg:sept)

Instead of updating the records, can I use DELETE ALL to truncate the data from a particular partition and insert my data.

Any help would be much appreciated!!!

Thanks
