Thank you All for your valuable inputs.

The requirements of running historical trending reports are making the use of Timestamps inevitable to capture any possible changes and we had to use Timestamp(6).

We might be upgrading to 13.10 soon, but Teradata folks I spoke to did not give any solid confirmation of provisioning partitions on timestamp. Also, it could take time to move to 13:10

Dave, your work around is pretty interesting. I will try to see if I can get it to work.
