Subj:   Re: On the subject of SQL assistant patches

From:   Dempsey, Mike

#1 - By 'search' I assume you mean the 'Find' dialog for Answer and History windows.

We added additional options to the Find dialog and changed it to work like the Find dialog in most other applications. (Find the next occurance only) The ability to find all occurances of a string did not make it into 13.0, but that feature has been implemented in 13.10. (a new 'Find All' button - as in Excel)

#2 - We have been unable to find a way to force the History window to always be at the bottom when you tile the child windows. This was a simple process in Visual Basic, but there is no equivalent in the .Net Framework.

The current logic will often force it to be at the bottom, but it does not always work (and there is no way to correct it without user intervention)

If it does not move to the bottom then clicking into a different window (ie. Moving the focus) and then clicking 'Tile' again will usually correct it.

#3 - The results for Explain, Show, Help (textual) are all now displayed in text style windows so that we can use syntax color highlighting to improve readability.

Although they look similar to Query windows you will not be able to execute any SQL that is displayed in them without copying it to a Query window.

#4 - The pink execution screen is partly just to remind you that this query is running and can not be edited, and partly to color the tab itself so that if you are working on a different tab while the query is running you will be able to tell when that query ends. (The tab color would change to green) If you don't like the color you can change it (as with almost all colors in SQL Assistant) on the Code Editor tab of the Options screen.
