Subj:   Temporary password in SQL Assistant - a bug?

Hi all,

When I create a user with temporary password, I am not able to set a new password via SQL Assistant (tested on 7.2 and 12.0).

When I try to logon with the password I set, I get the message:

     Logon failed.
     3032: User password has expired.
3682: Password has expired, please use MODIFY USER statement to generate a new password.

There is basically nothing wrong about that, temporary password is made for expiring immediately. But why do I not get the second part? Why the user is not asked to change his password and he is simply denied instead? This is the first time I ran into this issue, before the users where simply asked to submit a new password.

It works fine when I logon via BTEQ - it asks for a new password. I am on v2r6, but this probably has nothing to do with it.

Did anyone run into such an issue before?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.
